About TOD

TOD, part of beIN MEDIA GROUP, is a digital streaming service offering international movies, TV shows, live sports, and major sporting events on one platform.
As TOD grows its original content slate, getting new releases in front of viewers who would otherwise miss them is one of the platform’s priorities. That translates into subscribers who are more engaged, more satisfied, and more likely to stay.

The challenge

New content launches on a popular platform like TOD deserve more than a single moment of visibility. Without a built-in path to the content in question, though, viewers were left to find their own way there.

TOD set out to make every launch work as an ongoing discovery channel to guide viewers from the homepage straight to the content and into a play.

01

Making new seasons impossible to miss on web

TOD’s web homepage surfaced new content among dozens of other titles. A user scrolling the site had to actively search out a new season, which created friction at the exact moment a launch needed visibility. For content that had just launched, the goal was to reach the viewer fast, before that friction cost the view.

How TOD solved it

Using Netmera’s web widgets/messages, TOD launched dedicated placements for both Var Bunlar and Sorgu Season 2. Each was built to surface the new content directly in the browsing flow and route viewers to the content page in one click. Desktop and mobile/tablet browsers each got their own widget format.

What changed

Comparing the September–October launch window to the prior two months (July–August), The Var Bunlar web widget drove a 34x jump in “Play” events and a 6x increase in unique viewers. The Sorgu web widget performed even more sharply, driving a 187x increase in “Play” events and close to a 50x increase in unique viewers. Platform-wide, “Web Play” events grew 58.5% across the same period.

02

Carrying discovery into the mobile experience

Mobile browsing behaves differently from the web. Smaller screens and shorter sessions meant the same discovery challenge needed its own solution.

How TOD solved it

TOD built native in-app messages/mobile widgets for both titles, sized and paced for how viewers actually browse on a phone or tablet, so a new season could surface naturally in a mobile session and lead into a play.

What changed

Across the September–November mobile widget period, measured against the prior three months (June–August), Var Bunlar “Play” events rose 375.2% and unique viewers grew 153.4%. Sorgu’s mobile results moved even further, with “Play” events up 642.5% and unique viewers up 521.3%.

Platform-wide mobile “Play” events grew 92.6% over the same stretch, well ahead of the web-wide gain.

Web and mobile don’t behave the same way, and we needed to cover both without using a second engagement platform or tool. With Netmera, we set up both experiences and had them live within minutes.

03

Extending discovery into revenue

TOD wanted the lift in content discovery to reach the entertainment package, the subscription tier tied to its drama and film library.

How TOD solved it

More viewing meant more visibility for the entertainment package itself. TOD used that momentum to turn interest in new content into entertainment package purchases.

What changed

Entertainment package purchases rose 57.2% overall, with web purchases up 58.3% and mobile up 52.9%. The near-identical growth rates across both channels point to a widget strategy that worked consistently.

This is what happens when discovery has a clear path built in. Netmera can build that path for your content too, on web and mobile alike.

Beyond the web and in-app messages

  • Set and track campaigns through our MCP server. Manage widget campaigns like this one from the AI models like Claude or ChatGPT.
  • Bring every data source into one place. Netmera’s built-in CDP connects app, web, backend, and CRM data, so targeting draws on the full picture of the viewer.
  • Treat every visitor as an individual. Website personalization adapts what each visitor sees, based on who they are and what they’ve done before.
  • Keep viewers updated live. Live Activities push real-time updates, like a match score or a new episode drop, straight to the lock screen.
